What People Say...

I was able to uncover and connect with the vulnerable side of the author as I read the book. In addition to the vulnerability and raw relatable emotion, I enjoyed seeing the growth of the author as a person through the expressions in the poems.
I especially enjoyed 'Grandfather 2'; the author's writing style truly developed and you can feel the pain losing her grandfather caused her.
The poems and narration are relatable and helpful. Definitely read it through.

I thought this book was going to be cute silly poems written by a cute silly little girl. Some poems are cute and silly but I loved how you can see the poems and subjects begin to mature as you read through to the end. The author also did a great job adding narration that gives insight on the poems and the thoughts/feelings behind them.
I loved the poem 'American Pie'! It absolutely resonates with me and I think it would be relatable for many.
To those who haven't read the book. Order a copy, it's fire!!

It’s a book of personal poems and experiences; Nothing is better than that. The book also includes narration that I found to the authentic and a perfect addition to the poems that span over a decade. I felt a sadness overcome me as I learned of the emotions the author experienced at such a young age.
'Grandfather 2' is my favorite poem. I enjoyed how she broke the years down to ages showing how she grew into the person Grandfather helped mold her to be.
